Work Harbor

Work Harbor FAQ

Work Harbor is where people looking for work, businesses hiring help, and service providers can get organized without turning every conversation into a public post.

For workers

Do people looking for work pay Lighthouse?

No. Work Passports, matching, applying, and contact through Lighthouse stay free for workers. There is no premium worker tier and no paid ranking.

What is a Work Passport?

It is your private worker profile: skills, work area, availability, examples, limits, and proof details when needed. It helps Lighthouse understand what kind of opportunity fits you.

Will my private contact details be public?

No. Contact details are kept private. The safer first step is a protected Signal Room where both sides can ask questions before deciding whether to share direct contact information.

Can I add photos or videos?

Yes. Use them as proof of experience, tools, work examples, or readiness. Keep them real and relevant to the work you want.

For employers

What does an employer pay for?

Employers pay only for Lighthouse business membership capacity, such as active hiring requests, staff seats, and locations. Lighthouse does not take worker wages.

Does saving a request start billing?

No. Saving a request organizes the hiring need. Billing is handled through the membership area when a business chooses a paid membership.

What should a hiring request include?

Role or task, general area, schedule, pay range, requirements, urgency, and anything that would make someone a poor fit.

Does Lighthouse choose the worker for me?

No. Lighthouse can organize and suggest fit based on the details, but people still decide. Hiring, pay, compliance, and final choice stay with the business and worker.

Signal Rooms

What is a Signal Room?

A Signal Room is a protected conversation for a possible match. It keeps questions, answers, fit, and outcomes together before anyone moves off-site.

When should I use it?

Use it before sharing private contact details, committing to a schedule, or deciding whether a role or person is the right fit.

Can either side walk away?

Yes. Either side can decide it is not a fit. The room can record complete, declined, or needs follow-up.

Where should this work question go?

WorkerWork PassportSomeone wants to be found for work or show skills.
EmployerHiring requestA business needs staff, a role, a crew, or recurring capacity.
CustomerServicesA customer needs a quote, booking, provider, appointment, or completed job.

FAQ boundary: Workers stay free. Provider payments, Marketplace sales, storage billing, and worker wages stay separate from Work Harbor membership.

The plain rule

Workers should not have to pay to be seen. Employers should know what they are asking for. Lighthouse should keep the first steps clear, private, and organized.
