Terms of use
Clear rules for a place built to help.
These terms explain the shared responsibilities that keep Lighthouse useful, private, and safe. By creating an account or using a paid service, you agree to them.
Plain-language map
Use Lighthouse honestly, safely, and with permission. The rooms help organize work, services, marketplace activity, storage, creative projects, community, life support, and private records, but they do not replace emergency services, legal advice, medical care, or your own review before approving something important.
The page you are using matters. A marketplace listing, service request, storage payment, Work Harbor profile, membership checkout, and Life Hub record each have their own practical steps. If you are unsure, use Start Here or Support before continuing.
Plain responsibility boundary
Lighthouse organizes the room. People still approve the real-world decision.
What Lighthouse provides
Lighthouse is a place to organize needs, prepare work, connect with people and services, create and share permitted content, manage selected payments, and keep private records together. Some areas are fully available, some are new foundations, and some depend on outside providers. The page or checkout describing a service controls what is included.
Lighthouse is not emergency monitoring, medical care, therapy, legal representation, financial advice, law enforcement, or a guarantee of work, hiring, safety, payment, delivery, or results.
Your account
- Provide accurate information and keep your password and devices secure.
- Use your own account. Do not impersonate someone or use information you lack authority to provide.
- Review prepared work before approving anything public, paid, sent, shared, or legally meaningful.
- Tell us promptly if you believe an account or payment is being misused.
Independent paid accounts are for adults. A parent or legal guardian must manage use involving a minor.
People, listings, and services
Members are responsible for the truth of their profiles, listings, requests, qualifications, ownership claims, prices, schedules, and communications. Unless a page expressly says verification is complete, Lighthouse has not guaranteed a person, item, provider, employer, space, or claim.
Employment, contractor, licensing, insurance, tax, safety, accessibility, and consumer-protection duties remain with the parties responsible for them.
Payments and memberships
Prices and renewal terms are shown before checkout. Paid memberships renew until canceled through the available billing controls. Usage already delivered and legally required records may remain after cancellation. Refund eligibility follows the terms shown for the purchase and applicable law.
Storage billing and rental access are separate from Lighthouse membership. A storage payment does not unlock membership features, and a Lighthouse membership does not create storage rights.
Your content
You keep ownership of content you own. You give Lighthouse permission to store, format, display, transmit, and process it only as needed to provide the uses you choose. Do not upload or publish material you do not own or have permission to use. Content involving identifiable people, memorials, missing-person cases, children, or private records requires the right consent and authority.
Not allowed
- Fraud, impersonation, harassment, threats, exploitation, discrimination, or illegal activity.
- Malware, automated abuse, security testing without written permission, scraping private information, or interference with the service.
- False emergency, missing-person, credential, ownership, employment, or safety claims.
- Publishing private contact, financial, health, or identity information without authority.
- Using Lighthouse to evade another service’s rights, licensing, or payment rules.
We may limit, hold, remove, preserve, or report activity when reasonably necessary for safety, law, fraud prevention, or these terms.
Availability and responsibility
We work to keep Lighthouse available and accurate, but features may change, pause, or fail. Back up information you cannot afford to lose. To the extent permitted by law, Lighthouse is provided without a promise that every result, connection, or outside service will meet every need. Nothing in these terms removes rights that applicable law does not allow us to waive.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as Lighthouse grows. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Maryland law applies where permitted, without overriding protections that apply where you live.
