MARKETPLACE TRUST CENTER

Real listings, private first contact, clearer handoffs.

Lighthouse Marketplace helps people buy, sell, trade, give away, and request things locally without turning the first public listing into a pile of phone numbers, payment handles, and exact addresses.

Private first contactUse Marketplace messages before sharing phone, email, exact address, gate codes, door codes, or payment details.
Real listing detailsListings should use actual photos or video when possible and describe condition, flaws, included parts, area, and handoff limits clearly.
Clear report pathBuyers and sellers can report scams, pressure, prohibited items, harassment, stale posts, and misleading listings.
People own the final dealLighthouse helps the first exchange. Payment, inspection, pickup, delivery, and final condition decisions stay between buyer and seller.

HOW MARKETPLACE SHOULD FEEL

One clear place for the exchange, not a maze.

Marketplace is built for buying, selling, free offers, trades, wanted requests, tools, materials, household items, work-related needs, storage or space offers, and practical local handoffs. Buyers should be able to search everything together. Sellers should be able to post the real item or real need without exposing private details publicly.

FOR BUYERS

Ask enough before you leave the room.

  • Confirm availability, condition, size, what is included, and general area.
  • Save listings or searches so you can return through My Marketplace.
  • Do not send card numbers, door codes, exact addresses, or payment handles in the first message.
  • Slow down if the seller pushes gift cards, wire transfers, outside links, or pressure to leave Lighthouse immediately.

FOR SELLERS

Make the listing easy to trust.

  • Use real photos or video of the actual item, material, space, or request.
  • Describe flaws, measurements, missing parts, pickup limits, and what is included.
  • Use a general area publicly; save exact handoff details for private messages.
  • Keep phone numbers, emails, payment handles, and door codes out of the public listing.

REPORT THESE

When to use Report concern

  • Scams or payment pressure.
  • Prohibited, unsafe, or suspicious items.
  • Misleading photos or condition claims.
  • Harassment or unsafe contact requests.
  • Sold, stale, fake, or unavailable listings.

DO NOT POST

Content that can be removed

  • Weapons, ammunition, drugs, counterfeit goods, stolen goods, fake IDs, adult services, or live animals.
  • Exact private addresses, access codes, payment handles, phone numbers, or email addresses in public listings.
  • Stock photos pretending to show the actual item.

WHAT LIGHTHOUSE DOES

The platform role

  • Gives the public listing a cleaner structure.
  • Keeps first contact in a private message path.
  • Receives and reviews reports.
  • Can hold or remove listings that need owner review.

IMPORTANT BOUNDARIES

Lighthouse helps the exchange, but does not become the transaction.

Lighthouse does not inspect every item, guarantee condition, hold buyer/seller money, provide escrow, promise delivery, verify every ownership claim, or become a party to buyer and seller transactions. Use the Marketplace tools to ask better questions, keep first contact safer, and report concerns before the handoff.
