Use Marketplace messages before sharing phone numbers, emails, exact addresses, gate codes, or door codes.
MARKETPLACE TRUST CENTER
Clear rules before the handoff.
Lighthouse keeps first contact private, keeps public listings cleaner, and gives buyers and sellers a report path. Buyer and seller payments, pickup, delivery, and final condition decisions remain between the people involved.
WHAT LIGHTHOUSE DOES
Trust without pretending to control every transaction.
Marketplace is for real local buying, selling, free offers, trades, and wanted requests. Lighthouse supports the first conversation and report flow. It does not inspect every item, guarantee condition, hold money, or become a party to buyer/seller transactions.
Post real photos or videos when possible. Describe condition, flaws, included parts, measurements, and handoff limits clearly.
Do not put payment handles, gift cards, wire-transfer requests, card numbers, or pressure tactics in public listings or first messages.
Choose safe public handoff options when possible. Confirm item condition, timing, and method before leaving Lighthouse.
Report scams, prohibited items, harassment, stale listings, misleading details, or pressure to leave Lighthouse before both sides choose the next step.
Serious reports or multiple unique reports can move a listing out of public search until Lighthouse reviews it.
PROHIBITED OR REVIEWED CONTENT
What should not be posted
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, drugs, counterfeit goods, stolen goods, fake IDs, adult services, or live animals.
- Listings that publish exact private addresses, door codes, phone numbers, emails, or payment handles before private contact.
- Payment pressure, gift-card requests, wire transfers, suspicious outside links, or instructions meant to avoid accountability.
- Listings with stock photos pretending to show the actual item.
REPORT PATH
How a customer reports something
- Open the listing or message thread.
- Choose Report concern.
- Pick the reason and describe the issue.
- Lighthouse records the report; serious reports can remove the listing from public search while it is reviewed.
